HISTORY
Launched in 1977, by Sayyid Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi and his two sons; Sayyid Sami and Sayyid Badr, Sabco LLC – Sami and Brothers Company – has since grown into a diverse group of over 30 companies. Initially representing companies like Honda, National Panasonic and Omega, today the Group’s presence ranges across numerous fields – from perfumes to publishing, media to real estate and manufacturing.

The initial Group enterprise, Sabco LLC, was a holding company involved in private and public sector project development as well as in representing some leading international companies. Diversifying into the manufacturing field, the Group started The National Mineral Water Company, bottling water from the springs of Jebel Akhdar. The next step was the entry into luxury products, with Amouage, a luxury brand of exquisite perfumes from the Group’s Oman Perfumery. The Founders’ love for music found expression with the establishment of Sabco Art, a music and TV production houses. This was soon expanded to include a full-service advertising division, now known as The Agency. Inroads into the retailing sector led to the creation of Oman’s pioneer boutique mall, Sabco Commercial Centre.

Next, to giving big business appropriate exposure, the largest exhibition organizing company in the country, Oman Expo, was opened. The foray into realty and financial services was initiated with Al Hail Investments, for property development and asset management. To strengthen the Group’s media presence, Sabco Press, Publishing and Advertising was launched, with general and special interest publications. Another major player in this expansion was Sabco Media, with radio stations, TV channels and outdoor signage. Ever conscious of its social and environmental responsibilities, the Group set up Horizon Technology, a PET recycling plant, in 2008.

Making the best of every opportunity to expand, the Group’s organic development has always been led by the proper appreciation of its main resource,
its personnel.
